Q: What inspired you to come up with ART?
Listening to our clients and service partners feedback and looking at areas we could improve. Understanding the site conditions we cannot control for example: high ambient and elevated water temperatures, corrosive environments and fluctuating water pressures. The challenge comes from making an already reliable user-friendly system, then taking it to the next level in efficiency and robustness. With the ART we can now adapt the output of the system to cope with the extremes of site conditions and at the same time keeping the quality of the final product. The ART system also allows us to increase the lifespan of the systems key components which greatly reduces maintenance requirements.
Q: Once you had the idea, where did you start?
We start by visualisation by building a 3D computer model in SolidWorks and consider all the aspects of the system from installation to operation and maintenance. We also consider what customers’ expectations are such as HMI touch-screen display giving greater system controllability, connectivity through Phone text email and VNC. Improved operational efficiency benefits extended component lifespan. Improving the service experience with CIP and easy removal of parts for inspection or replacement.
We then build prototypes for factory testing then site testing. For instance, the first protype has been field tested for over 2 years whilst the whole development process takes between 3-5years to bring the final product to market.
